I for one have been bad- very bad as of late. I haven’t been able to dedicate the proper amount of time towards my health.
There was a time in my life where I used to be dedicated towards working out. When I say dedicated I’m talking about borderline obsession actually. But, I set a goal and achieved it. I used to go to the gym early every morning and workout. It used to be to the extent where the gym acted like another part of myself. I had a routine I was comfortable with so of course I enjoyed everything about my time at the gym.
Once I was dedicated, I noticed everything I used to complain about went away be it the constant migraines I would get to my issues with lack of proper eating because of such dedication to the gym.
But alas, life eventually became quite hectic. One day I felt like I was on top of the world at the gym with all the time to spare just dedicated to working out. Then the next day, my routine started to drag. And one day led to another and before I knew it I was completely out of shape and I hated my body.
I’m too scared to weigh myself on a scale because of the number that’ll pop up. (I warned you all about my borderline obsession).
Of course, I know that isn’t the normal typical kind of behavior any person be it a @KhaleejiGirl or not should have. But now that I’ve come to terms with this, what can I do to get back to the way things were?
Maybe switching up a @KhaleejiGirl’s routine is in order. Perhaps something like taking part in playing a game like tennis or soccer? This is different than going to the gym because although you’ll still be burning calories, this time you’ll be held accountable by your other teammates. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic active each week and sports can contribute to this.” Plus, once you choose a sport of your choice, it’ll undoubtedly be even more fun!
You can go to sports clubs and ask to join in on a game of soccer, take tennis classes at all an all ladies fitness center, and so much more! With so many options, you’re bound to be back on track in no time @KhaleejiGirl!
So, no more pushing yourself to finish an hour on the elliptical or x amount of reps of weight lifting. With the resources we have on our beautiful tiny island, the sky itself sometimes doesn’t even seem to be the limit!
